Sam completed "Child of Hope" at the age of twelve. Sam's main focus in his drawings are the eyes.
He thinks it's the most important thing, and he spends the most time on them.
Drawing "Child of Hope" took about 150 hours, because he individually drew each hair on her head.
He had a vision of how it should look, and he kept at it until he got what he wanted.
He entered his drawing in the 2003 Woodinville Art Show and won the People's Choice Award.
